  • Liberal activist author and political satirist Erin Nanasi shares her epic take on Saturday night's Republican presidential debate in Des Moines, Iowa, with a unique perspective on the winners and losers, and what (evidently) may lie ahead for candidate Mitt Romney after possibly betting against his own interests, and that of voters. Pun intended.
  • President Obama will meet with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to discuss year-end efforts as American troops come home, in accordance with the future of the relationship between the U.S. and Iraq. Last night, the President sat down for an interview with Steve Kroft on "60 MINUTES", defending his policy positions, his ratings in the polls, and future prosects of the current GOP presidential slate.  **The transcript for the interview is available HERE**
  • With China's advancement in the world economy and the price drop in gold and other metal commodities, all eyes are on Europe this week as the fate of the euro continues to look grim while new rules and regulations are set in place to put limits on borrowing and spending.
  • Amidst a Republican-enforced backlash of police arrests and protest raids, the Occupy Movement endures, with its next move planned for later today.
  • National Action Network, SEIU, The Hispanic Federation and The NAACP were among many groups of people who headlined a major protest event on Saturday to make their voices heard to bring the attention of the American public to the constitutionally, economically and socially detrimental and devious efforts of the Republican party and right-wing conservative corporation, ALEC, to influence next year's presidential election by disenfranchising more than 5 million voters, most of whom include minorities, students, and the elderly.
  • After a year of intended failed progress in light of a struggling economy amidst an agenda filled with political corruption and constitutional maljustice, House Republicans continue, among other things, to reveal their hypocrisy and corporate greed
  • Even with a heavy rebuke of the impact the Republican presence in Congress is having on the country, and a steady increase in voters' support for President Obama, the latest administrative decision last week regarding Plan B contraceptives announced by Kathleen Sebelius has sparked a huge online conversation over the weekend questioning the role of scientific fact in making policy choices that affect a certain demographic of voters.
  • Senator Bernie Sanders hit the media airwaves to pitch his case against the corporate monetary abuse of democracy with Citizens United, and his latest effort to help voters get their voice back.
  • After years of lengthy studies and analytical reports in the on-going debate about the affects of drilling in our oceans, the latest EPA finding finally links fracking directly to water contamination, vindicating environmental activists.
  • Conservative media continues to split hairs over Newt Gingrich as Glenn Beck makes a startling assertion about Tea Party supporters especially within Gingrinch's base.  (For this outright backlash against an entire party that he himself has given public events for in the past, Beck ought to be careful from here on out, or people might start calling him a...oh no...a LIBERAL!!!!) LOL!  Personally, I don't know why they keep freaking out about Newt. He inebriates himself in nothing but sheer, conservative glutton, sharing nothing but his enduring hatred for the poor, his dismissiveness with children and the laws that protect them, and his bigotry toward Palestinians. He's perfect!  Oh well...moving on.
  • Late last week, Andrew Breitbart appeared on "Follow The Money" with Eric Bolling, to engage in the usual Right-wing Islamophobic rhetoric in reference to a PSA advertisement, managed to malign his talking points referencing MTV, AIDS and "the gay male community" in his endorsement of profiling in order to fight the war on terror... It's ok...I understand. In an ironic turn of events, Brietbart found himself amidst a firestorm of internal conflict within the conservative base, in relation to Rick Perry's dwindling campaign recovery since the YouTube broadcast of Perry's anti-LGBT military service advertisement (which still continues to fail as epic as it did within the first two days), as gay republicans are still trying to reconcile their representation of both gay people and the Republican party. By the way, Rick Perry's anti-gay ad (which, in all hilarious irony, turns out to contains music representative of such composed by THIS guy) is still online, and now viewed at well over 600k dislikes!!!  ...you know what to do! ;-)
  • And lastly, you know that old saying "An idiot is a genius to another idiot."? ...Well, here is proof that this meme could not be any more truthful than in certain instances.  Have a good news day everyone!
