So it seems like we’ve gone through the looking glass.  Here we have the largest man-made “natural” disaster in human history, with implications and damage that we won’t begin to understand for decades, and we are talking about…a basketball player?  Hey, you know, I can respect it if you’re into sports or whatever, but seriously have we lost our damn minds here?  Did anyone think about what ‘damage’ really is?  Why can an entire city get all up in arms about a guy who plays with a rubber ball, but we can’t take a few seconds to push 1 on a phone without bitching and whining, we can’t demand more fuel efficient vehicles, we can’t sacrifice our own comfort literally to save our lives…but boy we got no problem spending a few million dollars and dumping a few thousand more tons of particulate pollution into the atmosphere so we can runfastfast to the bar and sit around bitching about a ball player.

Jesus wept.

Seriously you know, I try to live and let live, but it’s awful hard sometimes in the face of this crap.
