Checking In, Job, Ongoing Things

Well, here we are again.  Looks like I'm going to be back to work soon, driving.  I'm going to keep the 'driving what' and 'for whom' to myself...some of these people who disagree with my point of view are more than a little creeptastic, and I'd really rather not have to deal with them at work.  It wouldn't be the first time.  It's not a tremendously lucrative gig, but it's income right now, which is what I need to get my feet under me and get back to work on the various projects and things that I need to get rolling on.  Keeping my domains online, FINALLY changing hosts for my last couple of sites that are on this server, that kind of thing.  Plus working on new sites.  Every little bit helps.

Priorities:  Getting come cash to Utah so I can get my camcorder charger back.  Getting some things like a desk, a bed, etc.  Getting another couple of years on my domain registrations and another year of hosting paid in advance at my new host.  Musical instruments; at the very least a guitar and drums.  Then finding a place to put the drums so I can practice.  That probably seems like a silly priority, but it's a mental and physical health issue; creativity, making music, is my outlet for the odd band of emotions that run through me; playing the drums is the closest to physical exercise as I get and, as my videos attest, I definitely need to drop about 50-60 pounds and get my cardio back in shape while I'm still young enough to do so.

I've got one of the two remaining RantGenius vids that I recorded in CA rendering now, I hope you enjoy it.  Target:  Disney the Pimp.

Still a lot of things rolling around my head in terms of what I've learned and the things that have happened over the last couple of months.  I still want to get the documentary on homelessness put together, but obviously I've got to work from almost scratch since the original set of people and resources are no longer available to me.  Would be nice to be able to get myself some regular medical care, too, but that's life.  Other things take precedence right now, unfortunately - being healthy doesn't do me much good if I've got nothing to do but wander around on the streets all day.

I wanted to take a minute and extend a special thank-you to my good friend Lynette, who is continuing to help me get on my feet by loaning me the cash to get my MI driver's license, which enables me to get this new job.  She's been a good friend for a lot of years and through a lot of ups and downs, she's got a good heart, she's good people, and if there's any justice at all in the world she'll continue to succeed where others fail just by being, irredeemably, herself.  Thanks, sweetie.

I'm hearing that the apartments above Monaco Bay are very affordable and very nice.  If anyone knows anything about these, could you drop me a line and fill me in, please?  Thanks.

That's the news for now.  I'm still far too wrapped up in my own stuff to get back into my standard fare of social and political commentary; I'm not even engaged on that front right now, it's all about trying to get my stuff together so I can go back to being self-sufficient rather than relying on friends and family for everything from food to gas to my internet connection.  Once the new gig is broken in and I've got some idea of what life is going to look like moving forward, I'll get back to the videos and so forth that people seem to enjoy, along with some other projects that I'd intended to get rolling on in CA but never got the chance.

As always, my continuing and undying gratitude to everyone who has been so supportive and helpful through this difficult time in my life.  Going back to dead-zero in terms of personal resources is not an easy thing; knowing that there are people out there who actually give a damn how I'm doing is a seriously uplifiting experience, and one that is new to me.  Almost every day now, I get surprised by an old friend who I honestly thought had forgotten me.  It's a nice feeling, to know you're not alone in the world.
