Checking In…

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

So I’ve been in Michigan for a week and a half now.  Getting settled in and my wits back about me.  I feel a bit slackish, but the truth is that the events of the last six weeks are weighing heavily on my mind.

I’m going to say this only once:

I am not a fool.

I’ve been having a great time being back home, though I’ve actually done very little.  Haven’t even been downtown yet; I haven’t seen DTK since before they exhumed Arcadia Creek.

Probability is high that I’ll be getting back into the driving business, since I have local connections there, it’s immediate cash, and between growing up here and all the new-fangled GPS systems and what-not, I’ll have no problem finding my way around.  My long-time friend Lynette is in that line of work and is going to see how much helping out she can do.  If I get lucky, maybe someone who owns a limocab company will be willing to front the cash for me to get my MI driver’s license and chauffeur endorsement.  I need to start bringing some cash in, so I can get into my own environment and get productive and creative again.

That’s the one thing that really DOES piss me off about the California deal – I was just hitting a very nice groove with the videos and everything, and this whole rigmarole really screwed that up.

No worries though.  JH has always had groove.  I’ll be fine in due time; been kept down long enough, by circumstance and by myself.

I have some client work to do today, and all kinds of other cyber-doings to get handled.  I’m not able to get out and see people right now due to lack of funds, but that issue should be subsiding in relatively short order.

I’ve got some really great photos and vid from my cross-country excursion.  Eventually I’ll get all that put together and dealt with, but I’ve got some things up in the air right now, most relevant to this point being that I still need to move my sites…and of course that takes money too.  When I move, I’ll likely go with an upgraded version of BlogEngine and the Slideshow silverlight app that my images are currently stored in, which means a fair bit of work.  May redesign the site at that time, too, but that’s time-dependent.

That’s the news for now.  Still many unresolved thoughts regarding this whole Cali deal that I’m working to articulate effectively in time.

Thanks for visiting, sorry I haven’t been updating as regularly lately.
