Sorry, didn't leave to mean my Faithful Readers - all both of you! - hangin'. As you can imagine, I've been tremendously busy. Mostly it's been a marathon of redesign over at LowGenius.Com, because after all that is (in theory at least) my paying gig. Feel free to check it out if you want.
I really, really wanted to save this for when I had time to write an in-depth review of it, so I'll keep it brief: This song will rip your face off. It's the most unexpected and amazing thing I've heard in probably 15 years. Prepare to be shocked as 'Seven Nation Army' by the White Stripes is not just covered, but dramatically improved, by...
The Oak Ridge Boys.
Mark my words, folks: This is the next 'where the hell did THAT come from' buzz track. I keep seeing this picture in my head that goes something like this: Jack White is walking along an urban wasteland somewhere that's all in black and white, and suddenly four shadows appear on the ground in front of him. He looks up, and a guy with a really long beard is standing there with three other older guys, like in their late 50s, early 60's.
He reaches into his coat and pulls out a CD. Throws it on the ground at White's feet and says:
"Is that what you really meant, Jack?"
And walks away. Seriously, this is an AMAZING track.
Other than that...yeah, just gettin ready for the Big Move here in a few weeks. I'm absolutely giddy, for a whole list of reasons.
I'll check back in when I can.
