More personal day-in-the-life stuff, feel free to bypass if you don't care.
Finally got the 'old' box semi-working again. Pretty sure that hard drive is defective, but after I used a tool to write 0's to the whole thing bit by bit, THEN formatted it, THEN chkdsk'd it THEN formatted it AGAIN, and THEN installed XP on it, it seems to be working well enough for me to finish transferring the old files off it...which I'm in the process of doing now, in 'small' chunks...like 40, 60 gigs at a time :P.
This is going to be a bit of a project. Once I get all those files over to this box, I have to go through, cull duplicate and old files that I don't need anymore, and then BACK UP the rest of them to DVD. Once I do THAT, I can nuke everything I don't need and hopefully be back to a somewhat clean slate on this box and maybe I can start working again. Meantime, I ghost the fresh windows install over to the two now-empty backup drives, so if the other box craps out again I'm covered there. Wheeee!
Slowly getting back to work on content at LowGenius.Com as well, but the vast majority of readers of this blog likely won't care about that site, since it's focused pretty exclusively on 'geek stuff' - web design, AdSense talk, that kind of thing.
Got a couple of stuffs loosely "planned" for here as well...a drinking game that should be funny, and I'm slowly gelling an idea for a series of videos sort on the same lines as Denis Leary's old MTV promos...except, you know, funny and not based on uncredited Bill Hicks routines.
Haven't heard from Sammy since I last mentioned. Very bummed about that, but we'll see :-/
Someone finally pointed out to me that the FPS Optimizer download page was broken. I'll get that fixed. Maybe when I finish this entry, but either way I'll try to have it knocked by the end of the weekend.
I guess not much of anything more to add here, for now.
