One Day Closer

24. January 2009 by John Henry

...to WORLD DOMINATION. ;-)  Still tooling along on that big client site.  So I still don't have my main computer up and running.  I did find a nice little tool called Paint.NET that I'm using to make some pretty decent little things.  It ain't Photoshop, but this computer a) isn't mine to install Photoshop on, b) would die trying to run CS3, and c) won't be in use long enough (hopefully) to justify bothering with the install.  It'll get me through, and potentially help me get some work done that I may not have been able to.

Of course, this doesn't give me access to any of the work on the dead computer, but it's a start.  Other than that, there's really not much going on.  I'm pretty much stalled on that big job waiting for them to make decisions, provide materials and info, etc.  It would actually be a good weekend to get some WOW in, except that's on the other computer...and if the other computer was up I'd have more things to do.  Oh, well.  Right now I'm learning-fumbling my way through Paint.Net and more of my nifty tools.  You can see one of them on display of the front page of LowGenius.Com (the slideshow thing in the left corner of the content area).  Maybe I'll get some work done on the tutorials and instructions for some of the tools over there - there's certainly no better advertisement than letting potential clients see what they'll be able to do with their sites, and it gives me plenty of things to make screenshots of, which is more raw material to work with.

There's so much more I want to do.  I'm counting the seconds until I get this current job finished and get my computer situation taken care of, so I can get to work on all the other sites.  There are a couple of tools I want to pick up to go along with the computer, as well - most notably a pen tablet for capturing handwriting for Netographs as well as whatever other nifty things I come up with to use it for.

One step at a time.  For now, I'll be productive every way I possibly can and see what choices the next step offers me.  I want to write a tutorial for integrating a Google Custom Search Engine in to DotNetNuke as well, but again that's for the other site.

Hope this finds everyone well; please forgive me if I've missed any e-mails or anything. I'm doing my best to keep up at a much lower standard of capability than I'm used to.
