Time to take a few minutes and update, let folks know what's going on...
Obviously, I haven't been real active here the last couple of weeks. My eye is still firmly on the US Prediential race, but honestly...I don't know how much more there is to be said about it. My decision is made, and I think I've explained my reasons for making it fairly well here. I know all the cool kids just can't resist adding their two cents on every sound byte and off-hand remark, but at this point I've said everything I feel the need to say on the matter of Presidents.
I guess the only thing I can add is to not get overconfident. Make sure you get out and vote, and make sure you're encouraging others to do so as well.
What I've been up to: I've recast LowGenius.Com in a DotNetNuke engine complete with discussion board and all that stuff. It's half-awake right now, still a lot of work to be done, but it's up and running, feel free to check it out.I finished up a proposal for a new municipal site earlier today and got that sent off - hopefully I get that gig, as I can certainly use the income - and I have two more coming. I've also been editing the first novel by independent author Tessa Rawlinson, and I'll be building a website for her, and for her husband Jeff, who is a very good freelance photographer, over the next few weeks. And I'll definitely be pimping Tessa's novel, Bound By Vengeance, here with gusto - it's a very well-written fantasy-romance story, the first of a planned trilogy, with exceptionally strong characters and storytelling. Even if you're not into the bodice-ripper thing, the story itself is well-told and I am quite confident that it will become quite popular within its genre, and perhaps even outside of it. Definitely the sort of thing 'young adults' and adults will enjoy reading...but I'm going to shut up about it now and save my commercializing energy for actually promoting the book when it comes out.
Also have been trying to squeeze in any World of Warcraft time I can get. Of course with the new patch launched and the expansion pack due to hit in a couple of weeks, load times are slow, lag is high, and noobs about...but it's still a fun game.
I thought I was going to be a grandfather for a week or so, but my daughter miscarried her first pregnancy. While I certainly feel the loss, she was only about a month in, and she's still a bit young and unprepared in my opinion, so perhaps it was for the best. She's not terribly upset about the situation either - a sense of loss, to be sure, but not a gaping hole of remorse and anguish or anything. A bummer, for both of us, but not a disaster.
I'll be adding more content here soon, as well as other content at the other site. Glad to see people continue to stop by and read what I have to say, and I hope the upcoming stuff keeps you interested!
