Part 3 of a three-part series. In this segment: why approaching drug use and addiction as a criminal issue is wrong and pointless. For the record, it's been nearly 12 years since the last time I did any hard drugs, and this series is in no way intended to endorse, condone, or suggest that anybody should do any kind of drug, legal or illegal, medicinal or recreational. However, people will choose to do so, and I think it's important that someone with an honest, experienced perspective add their two cents of reality to the billions of dollars in nonsense that circulates about this critical issue.... We have a serious drug problem, both in the US and around the world. I can't speak to every culture's particular causes and effects, but I can definitely speak to those we see in the US.
