It’s long bothered me the way the Disney company pimps out kids and teenagers, pushing them to become these mega-super-star flash-in-the-pan idols and then leaving them to rot when they grow up and/or start thinking for themselves.  They make it all look so fun and wonderful…until one of them gets knocked up at 16 or overdoses or kills themselves, at which point Disney quietly makes itself conspicuous by its absence (one notable exception:  Jamie Lynn Spears…who still had a year left on her contract).  So…here’s a few words on the matter.   Comments welcome.

Well, here we are again.  Looks like I'm going to be back to work soon, driving.  I'm going to keep the 'driving what' and 'for whom' to myself...some of these people who disagree with my point of view are more than a little creeptastic, and I'd really rather not have to deal with them at work.  It wouldn't be the first time.  It's not a tremendously lucrative gig, but it's income right now, which is what I need to get my feet under me and get back to work on the various projects and things that I need to get rolling on.  Keepi... So I’ve been in Michigan for a week and a half now.  Getting settled in and my wits back about me.  I feel a bit slackish, but the truth is that the events of the last six weeks are weighing heavily on my mind. I’m going to say this only once: I am not a fool. When I'm 'working' (either for myself or someone else) I'll often browse news and humor sites while I eat lunch.  I saw this at www.overheardinnewyork.com today: Enthusiastic, loud girl on cell: Smoking pot?
